SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna women's basketball continued their early-season dominance Saturday evening with their second straight win over a Centennial Conference opponent in Muhlenberg by a 92-53 score.
How it Happened:
- The River Hawks started out hot, setting the pace for a 7-0 run in the opening minutes of play.
- The Mules stopped the run, by nailing their own three pointer, before SU was able to tack on an additional five points.
- Susquehanna continued their hot shooting, taking a commanding 25-13 lead into the second quarter of play.
- The second quarter was all the River Hawks, as they out shot the Mules 31-15 through the ten minute frame.
- The River Hawks continued to dazzle from beyond the arc, making shot after shot, taking a 28 point lead into the half.
- SU lead 56-28 at the break.
- Muhlenberg began to claw back into the game, before the River Hawks lit up the scoreboard jumping out to as high as a 38 point lead.
- Entering the fourth quarter of play, the River Hawks led by 38 points, 81-43.
- The River Hawks continued their dominance in the point scoring category, as the team netted an additional 11 points to end the game.
- SU defeated Muhlenberg, 92-53.
Inside the Box Score:
- Annie Greek continued her career start to the season, tying her season high of 19 points. Greek shot a dazzling 5-10 from deep, coming up just two shy of tying the school record.
- Sydney Weyant also tallied five three pointers for the River Hawks, as she to, came up two three pointers short of a school record. Weyant tallied a total of 17 points for the River Hawks, shooting 5-6 from the field.
- Julia Pinckert continued to climb the record books, notching another three pointer under her belt, now sitting with 90 career threes. Pinckert sits alone in 8th place all-time in three pointers made.
- Carly George and Renee Wells added double digit points to the box score, with George earning 10, and Wells earning 11.
- The River Hawks shot a dazzling 55.0% from the field, with a 63.3% from beyond the arc.
- The River Hawks netted 92 points, their most of any game this season.
- Susquehanna shot a staggering 19-30 from beyond the arc, setting a program record for three pointers made in a single game.
