Bostwick Leads Women at Mid-Atlantic Regionals to Wrap Season

NEWVILLE, Pa. – The Susquehanna University women's cross country team closed out its 2025 campaign with a 17th-place finish at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships on Saturday morning at Big Spring High School. The River Hawks were led by Sophia Bostwick, who turned in one of the strongest regional showings of her career.

Bostwick placed 42nd overall, clocking a 23:22.90 in the 6K championship race. She opened aggressively through the early splits and maintained position in the top pack, closing with a strong final kilometer. Her top-50 finish cements her as one of Susquehanna's most consistent performers throughout the season.

Behind Bostwick, the River Hawks leaned on a tight scoring group that packed up well through the middle of the race. Griane Reed finished 94th in 24:53.29, followed closely by Ayla Kerwan in 111th at 25:17.79 and Jess Askins in 116th at 25:31.06. The trio moved steadily through the field, helping solidify the team's overall placement.

Reflecting on her final collegiate cross country race, senior Griane Reed shared the impact this program has had on her journey: "The team this season has been so amazing. The atmosphere is always so positive, and I've been so lucky to get to run with these people over the past four years. I couldn't have asked for a better college experience because of this cross-country team."

Riley Schlosser rounded out the scoring five with a 122nd-place finish in 25:40.74, while Ava Warner crossed in 140th at 26:24.56, completing the River Hawks' top six.

The performance caps a year defined by roster growth, steady improvement across classes, and a young core gaining valuable postseason experience.
