SELINSGROVE, PA - The Associated Press (AP) announced its NCAA Division III All-Americans, featuring five from the Susquehanna University football team. The most notable, perhaps, was kicker
Dominic Bourgeois, who was named the AP's Division III Special Teams Player of the Year after making a school-record 20-of-20 field goals to lead the nation. He was named to the First Team alongside long snapper P.J. Pollock, who snapped all of the River Hawks' special teams plays that led Bourgeois to making 68-of-69 extra points and 69-of-70 among all River Hawks kickers. This is Bourgeois' second First Team All-American honor after being named as such by the AFCA last week.
Defensive lineman
Galen Limantour was chosen to the Second Team after compiling 13.5 sacks that ranks second all-time at Susquehanna and earning Defensive Player of the Year by the Landmark Conference and D3football.com for Region 2. Linebacker
Jesse Ruisch and running back
Rahshan La Mons were accorded Third Team honors, with Ruisch leading the defensive unit with 71 tackles and 44 solo tackles, while La Mons worked his way to 905 rushing yards with four 100-yard rushing games and 14 total touchdowns.
The work of these five aided the River Hawks to their fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance and second consecutive NCAA Quarterfinals game. Susquehanna captured the Landmark Conference title for the third straight year with a 6-0 league record and entered the postseason at 8-2 overall. They advanced to the Elite Eight via their playoff wins over Washington & Jefferson, Christopher Newport and Eastern to earn their fourth consecutive season with at least ten wins. The senior class that includes Ruisch and Pollock finish their careers as the winningest class in Susquehanna Football history with 43 victories, making NCAA's all four years. Susquehanna swept the Landmark's major awards in their all-conference rollout that featured Limantour as Defensive Player of the Year, quarterback
Josh Ehrlich as Offensive Player of the Year, first-year wideout
Daniel Growney as Rookie of the Year, and head coach
Tom Perkovich and staff Coaching Staff of the Year.
Limantour, who had six sacks during the regular season, superseded that sack total between the team's first three playoff games, getting three sacks in each of their first and second round wins over W&J and Christopher Newport, along with 1.5 sacks against Eastern in the third round for a postseason total of 7.5 sacks and 13.5 on the year. He and Bourgeois were chosen First Team All-Region 2 by D3football.com, while Ruisch and La Mons were tabbed Third Team All-Region. Ehrlich and cornerback
Xavier Maple were accorded Second Team regional honors.
