SELINSGROVE, PA - The Susquehanna University men's lacrosse team kept the awards rolling in this summer as the program secured a spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Team Academic Awards, while seniors
Chris Ciccarello and
Brennan Lorence mastered distinction to the USILA's Scholar All-American list. The River Hawks' team, consisting of 50 student-athletes, boasted a 3.32 cumulative GPA, as well as a 3.34 for the spring semester. Ciccarello graduated from Susquehanna with a 3.92 GPA, while Lorence graduated with a 3.89.
The USILA recognizes Scholar All-Americans who excelled in both the field and in the classroom, combining stellar play with high marks. The Team Academic Awards highlights men's lacrosse programs across NCAA Divisions I, II, and III with above a 3.0 grade point average.
Finishing the season 13-6, the River Hawks earned the sixth and final seed for the Landmark Conference Tournament with a 5-4 conference record in a stacked conference race. They then became the first sixth seed to advance in the Landmark Men's Lacrosse Tournament when they took down Drew 13-7 to mark a season sweep of the Rangers and another conference semifinals appearance. Ciccarello came close to the century mark with 95 points on the year, good for second all-time on a new school record 63 goals with 32 assists. Lorence finished up his time in orange and maroon with a Landmark-record 194 career goals on 237 points, good for second all-time, and 43 assists.
