SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University's men's lacrosse team begins their regular season next Saturday, Feb. 14 when they play host to Penn College. While a few key names from last season have graduated, with some taking program records with them, Susquehanna and head coach
Stewart Moan are prepared to make another run like in 2025 that saw them reach the Landmark Conference Semifinals. The conference, perhaps, felt the same way as Susquehanna earned a number-four ranking in its Landmark Preseason Poll. They earned 51 votes in the coaches-produced poll, while last year's league champion Scranton ranked first with 81 points (nine first-place votes), Elizabethtown second with 72 points, and Catholic with 64 points.
Coach Moan, now in his 19th season, showcases a 166-131 record with the university and 331-258 overall. Susquehanna finished the 2025 season with a 13-6 record and a 5-4 conference mark, earning the sixth and final seed for the Landmark Conference Tournament in a stacked conference race. They then became the first sixth seed to advance in the Landmark Men's Lacrosse Tournament when they took down Drew, 13-7, in their opening round game to mark a season sweep of the Rangers. The River Hawks finished with six All-Landmark selections, all seniors. Upperclassman
Jack Gaillard became the first Susquehanna men's lacrosse player ever to cross over 100 points in one season on 39 goals and 63 assists for 102 total, while his 263 career points on 102 goals and 161 assists stands alone.
Chris Ciccarello came close to the century mark as well with 95 points on the year, good for second all-time on a new school record 63 goals with 32 assists.
Brennan Lorence finished up his time in orange and maroon with a Landmark-record 194 career goals on 237 points, good for second all-time, and 43 assists.
Aidan Kennedy,
Marshall Woodrosky, and
Kieran Thomas rounded out the team's All-Landmark slate, with the latter chosen to compete in the USILA Senior All-Star Game. Goalie
Augie Granatelli wrapped his career in goal with a 17-6 career record and 309 career saves.
Returning players set to step into bigger roles this spring include
Pat McDermott and
Reese Ackerman, who were the team's top scorers last year among the returning players, each with 17 goals. McDermott had 10 assists also in 2025 for a season total of 27 points, while Ackerman had seven assists for 24 points.
Nick Remund also returns after a 12-goal season last year with six assists. The faceoff circle offers a chance for
Brandon Cash, who won 86-of-162 midfield battles after sharing duties with senior
Alexander Messina, who won 110-of-259. Defenseman
Marc Manfredonia leads the returning squad from last year with 13 caused turnovers, as well as 16 ground balls.
