SELINSGROVE, PA - The 2025 Susquehanna University cross country season is set to take off this Saturday down at Lebanon Valley. Ahead of the team's first competitive run this fall the River Hawks announced their three team captains in juniors Katie Wojton, James Dell, and Evander Lackman. Susquehanna is prepared to take flight this weekend at Lebanon Valley's Dutchmen Invitational. 

"On behalf of Coach McGuire and myself we are very pleased with the leadership we have seen over the last few weeks from these individuals," said Director of Cross Country and Track & Field Ethan Senecal. "They have done all the right things and earned their roles as captains. We are excited for this group and to get the season underway this weekend."

The three River Hawks were chosen based on their contributions to the program on and off the course, as well as their leadership skills. They have made the grade as well, with all three being named to the Landmark Conference Academic Honor Roll between cross country and track & field. Dell majors in Sports Media, while Lackman majors in Physics Engineering and Wojton Accounting and Finance. Since arriving on campus in 2023 Susquehanna has finished in the top half of the Landmark Conference standings at the 2023 and 2024 conference championships. The men finished fifth and third, respectively, while the women finished fifth both years. Lackman finished All-Landmark at each of those races, placing 14th and 18th, respectively. 

Wojton, Dell, Lackman, and the rest of the Runnin' River Hawks look to climb up the ladder in the Landmark through four regular-season races spanning Lebanon Valley, Dickinson, Lehigh, and Gettysburg. This year's Landmark Championships takes place Saturday, Nov. 1, hosted by Drew University at Oak Ridge Park in Clark, N.J. The NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships happens two weeks later on Saturday, nov. 15 in Big Spring, Pa.
