Women's Swimming Opens 2026 at Scranton

SCRANTON, PA - Susquehanna women's swimming and diving showcased spectacular times at the University of Scranton in the first meet of 2026.

How it Happened:

Matilda Klinetob got the podium finishes started for the River Hawks, taking third place in the 1000 yard freestyle. Klinetob finished the event with a time of 11:22.63.
Katherine Sirignano took fourth place in the 100 yard backstroke, followed by fifth place being claimed by Hannah Nash. Sirignano posted a time of 1:07.16, with Nash showing a time of 1:07.86.
The first gold medal finish of the day belonged to Jillie Donner. Donner finished the 100 yard breaststroke by showing a time of 1:13.42.
The third place finish in the 200 yard butterfly belonged to Maddie Lebkicker. Lebkicker finished the event with a time of 2:31.47.
Tessa Cronin took first place in the 50 yard freestyle, posting a time of 25.39. Emma Church took third place in the same event with a time of 26.40.
Valerie Stolz added her name to the list. Stolz scored 186.00 in the 1 mtr diving event, good enough for second place.
Cronin ended the 100 yard freestyle in first place with a time of 57.08.
Jillie Donner claimed SU's next first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke. Donner showcased a time of 2:39.96.
Hannah Nash finished in third place in the 200 yard IM, posting a time of 2:26.39.
Donner, Cronin, Kenney, and Church formed a team and scored a second place finish in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Up Next for the River Hawks:

Susquehanna returns home one last time this season as the team hosts their senior day against Bloomsburg University on Saturday, January 24.
Rounding out the regular season, the River Hawks take on Lycoming College and Moravian University in a tri-meet on January 31.
