BETHLEHEM, PA - Susquehanna women's basketball continued its dominating stretch with a decisive win over the Greyhounds of Moravian University on Saturday. After an early back and forth battle, the River Hawks made their mark on the game late, bolstered by
Julia Pinckert recording 21 points as the orange and maroon defeated the Greyhounds, 69-58.
How it Happened:
- Carly George started the scoring for the River Hawks, knocking in a lay up to knot the game at two points a piece.
- Both team continued to trade baskets, with neither team being able to establish any kind of lead throughout the first quarter.
- The River Hawks eventually jumped out to a seven point lead in the first frame, but the Greyhounds cut back into it, cutting the lead to four, ending the first frame of play with SU leading 15-11.
- The SU lead evaporated early in the second quarter of play, with Moravian gaining the advantage with 6:10 to go in the first half of play.
- The remainder of the quarter resulted in both team trading blows, with Moravian clinging on to the slight halftime lead, 27-24.
- Moravian came out of the break and added an additional two points to their lead, growing the advantage to five.
- Julia Roth and Carly George tacked on four points for the River Hawks, trimming the Moravian lead to one with 6:00 to play in the quarter.
- Susquehanna's offense came to life late in the third quarter, with Greta Servitto adding four points to the box score, followed by Sydney Weyant adding her own basket.
- The River Hawks continued to push their lead, jumping out to a six point lead with 2:12 to go in the quarter.
- Julia Pinckert added a three point shot to the board with 1:09 to play, pushing the lead to the largest of the night so far at nine.
- Moravian tacked on a lay up with three seconds to go in the frame. Julia Pinckert intercepted the in bounds pass and threw up a hail mary shot from inside of the opposite three point line at the buzzer, sinking the near full court shot to end the third quarter of play.
- Pinckert continued her dominance into the fourth quarter of play, tacking on yet another lay up and three point shot to push the SU lead back to nine.
- Moravian clawed their way back into the match, knotting the game at 54 points all, with 4:22 remaining in the game.
- The Susquehanna offense erupted from this point, finishing the game on a 15-4 run, led by Pinckert, George, and Roth, ending the game in the favor of the River Hawks, 69-58.

- Julia Pinckert led all River Hawks shooters, setting a new career high with 21 points. Pinckert nailed three-three point shots in the contest, including an almost full court shot at the end of the third frame of play.
- Julia Roth earned yet another double double, finishing the contest with 12 points to go along with 11 rebounds.
- Carly George added 16 points to the box score for the River Hawks, with Sydney Weyant adding 10 points.
- Susquehanna shot 40.6% from the field (26-64), compared to Moravian shooting 38.9% from the field (21-54).
