Anderson Reaches 1,000 Career Points as Men Heighten Playoff Hopes in Win at Goucher

BALTIMORE, MD. – Senior big-man Billy Anderson scored a game-high 21 points and notched his 1,000th career point on Wednesday against host Goucher, leading the River Hawks to an 87-59 win. Anderson joins fellow senior Brandon Lavitt as the second River Hawk this year and the 40th River Hawk all-time to reach the 1,000-point mark.

  • Goucher responded over the next five-and-a-half minutes with a 13-11 run in part thanks to two made three-pointers from Darnell Morris. Emezie Egeonu and Billy Anderson combined for nine of Susquehanna's 11 points during that stretch, helping the River Hawks maintain their lead.
  • Junior guard Mario Castro Sanchez scored seven of Susquehanna's eight points over the final three minutes of the half, leading the River Hawks into the break with a 40-26 lead.

  • Carson scored ten points in less than four minutes after Anderson reached his career milestone as River Hawks built on a 25+ point lead. He finished the game with 17 points, including 3-of-8 from beyond the arc.
  • Mikey Cumbo made four-straight points in 23 seconds around the 3:45 mark to get Susquehanna's lead all the way up to 30.
