SUSQUEHANNA, PA - Susquehanna extends their win streak to three with a 20-6 clobbering of Landmark Conference opponent Wilkes. After a relatively slow first quarter the score was 3-2 in favor of the River Hawks but 10 unanswered goals in the second quarter allowed them to cruise to victory. Jessica Russo and Abby Andrus carried the bulk of the offense scoring a combined 12 goals.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- Russo quickly got the scoring started for the River Hawks with a goal but Wilkes quickly responded to even it up at one with a goal from Taylor Sparks.
- Susquehanna responded by adding on two more goals with 7:42 left in the first, both from Russo.
- Karinne Podwika scored the final goal of the quarter off a free-position shot to bring the Colonels within one.
- In the second quarter, Andrus wasted no time and scored a goal only 22 seconds into the quarter.
- Sophia Trively and Russo both tallied a goal with 13:01 left in the second to drive the score to 6-2.
- Shea Cina travelled the length of the field to assist on another Russo goal giving the River Hawks a five goal lead.
- Maggie McDermott and Russo scored two goals less than 12 seconds apart, bringing the score to 9-2.
- To finish out the quarter Andrus tallied two more goals, Russo scored another, and Waverly Oake-Libow scored to move the score to 13-2 at halftime, and implement the running clock..
- Andrus scored the first goal of the second half with 13:58 left in the third to give Susquehanna a 12 goal lead.
- Abby DiComes scored her first goal of the game and McDermott scored her second to drive the score to 16-2 with 9:22 left in the third.
- Andrus scored her fifth goal of the game to give the River Hawks a 15 goal lead before they replaced most of their starters to give their bench playing time.
- Abbey Gearhart and Alison Church both scored in the final minutes of the quarter to give Susquehanna a 17 goal lead heading into the fourth quarter.
- In the fourth the Colonels fought back, scoring goals off the sticks of Morgan Hettesheimer, Podwika, and Sparks to give them five goals in the game.
- Alena Malinowski scored the final goal of the game for the River Hawks with 3:46 left in the fourth, making the score 20-5.
- Emily Jackson scored a goal for Wilkes, ending the game with a 20-6 score.

- Russo led the River Hawks offense with eight points from seven goals and one assist.
- Andrus ended the game with seven points, two of which came from assists and five from goals.
