SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna softball picked up two wins in their Landmark Conference doubleheader sweep against Lycoming on Tuesday. The River Hawks dominated offensively and defensively to take a 8-2 win, then followed with a 7-4 comeback win in the nightcap.

Game 1: Susquehanna 8 Lycoming 2
  • After a one two three inning to start the game defensively, The River Hawks got hot on the bats quick scoring 3 runs in the first inning. Stevie Shaak then hit a two-run RBI triple to right center and later scored on a fielding error from Lycoming
  • Susquehanna kept it rolling in the bottom of the second with Maddy Devine hitting a RBI single up the middle that scored Brianna Jones followed by Shaak bringing Devine home on a RBI single to give the River Hawks a 5-0 lead.
  • Lycoming finally answered in the top of the fourth, scoring two runs to cut into the Susquehanna lead. The River Hawks then earned those runs back in the bottom half of the inning with a Jones RBI single followed by Shaak continuing her dominant day with a two-run RBI single to put Susquehanna up 8-2.

  • Shaak led the way for the River Hawks in the batters box, going four for four with five RBI's. Shaak's four hits included three singles and one triple that opened up the scoring in game one.
