HUNTINGDON, PA - Susquehanna bounced back to win their fourth Landmark Conference game in dominating fashion, defeating Juniata College 17-9 on Wednesday. Makaela Larkin and Sophia Trively helped them jump to a quick 3-0 lead in the early minutes of the first quarter and they never looked back from there.
HOW IT WENT DOWN.
- Just 49 seconds into the game, Larkin scored a free position goal to give the River Hawks the lead.
- Trively tallied her first goal of the game just a minute later off of a Sloane Coddington assist.
- Larkin scored another goal with 6:28 left in the first to give Susquehanna a three-goal lead early.
- Juniata fought back and brought the deficit back to two with a goal off of the stick of Skylar Stevens.
- Susquehanna's leading goal scorer Abby Andrus scored her first goal of the game, bringing the lead back to three.
- The Eagles fired back with another unassisted goal, this time from Elayna Stubbe.
- Trively scored her second goal of the quarter to end it with the River Hawks up 5-2.
- Trively wasted no time in the second quarter, scoring yet again, this time off of a pass from Andrus. Stubbe responded quickly with her second goal of the game to make it 6-3.
- Susquehanna then went on a 3-0 run to put them up by six goals. Waverly Oake-Libow scored once and Andrus struck twice.
- Juniata responded with a two goal run of their own, a free position goal from Mara Gallo and another goal from Ella McGlaughlin.
- To end the half the River Hawks tallied three more goals, from Jessica Russo, Trively, and Larkin to head into the third with a 12-5 lead.
- The third quarter was relatively quiet, apart from two River Hawk goals from Abbey Gearhart and Alena Malinowski.
- Gallo scored again for the Eagles early in the fourth, driving the score to 14-6.
- Allison Stewart scored off an Oake-Libow pass before Stevens scored twice for Juniata to make it 15-8 with 2:50 left in the game.
- In the final two minutes of the game Susquehanna scored twice, from Oake-Libow and Kieran Spears, and McGaughlin scored again for Juniata to end the game at 17-9.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Trively led the River Hawk offense with four goals. Andrus and Larkin both scored three times.
- Gearhart, Malinowski, Stewart, Oake-Libow, Spears, and Russo also scored goals.
- Russo and Oake-Libow tied for the lead with three assists a piece, and Andrus had two.
- Stevens led Juniata's scoring with three goals. McGaughlin, Gallo, and Stubbe all had two goals as well.
- Devyn Mauger from Juniata led the game with eight draw controls. For Susquehanna Sophie Cole led with three.
- Aerin O'Brien started in goal for the River Hawks and saved 14 shots, only allowing five goals. Maggie Patterson played the fourth quarter saving one shot and allowing four goals.
- Susquehanna had 41 shots compared to Juniata's 28, and had 28 shots on goal to Juniata's 24.
- Susquehanna won 26 ground balls to Juniata's 15.

- The River Hawks look to carry their momentum into Madison, NJ, where they will take on Drew University this Saturday, at 12 p.m. They will return home to take on Catholic University on April 15.
