BALTIMORE, Md. — The Susquehanna University women's soccer team continued its strong start to the 2026 season Friday evening, earning a 2-0 shutout victory over Notre Dame of Maryland thanks to two second-half goals in the last 20 minutes. With the win, the River Hawks improved to 6-1-0 on the season.
How It Went Down
- After a scoreless opening 45 minutes, Susquehanna broke through in the 72nd minute. Following a corner kick, Madeline Osman found the back of the net at 71:25, with Liv Baczor providing the assist to give the River Hawks a 1-0 advantage. Baczor struck the ball towards the net that was blocked, with Osman gathering the ball directly in front and bouncing it in off the crossbar.
- Just over three minutes later, Baczor doubled the lead. The junior midfielder scored at 74:56 to push Susquehanna's advantage to 2-0.
- The River Hawks' defense took care of the rest, holding Notre Dame of Maryland without a shot on goal across the 90 minutes.
- Goalkeepers Katie Henchy and Alexis Nussbaumer each played 45 minutes, combining for the shutout.
