OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Susquehanna University women's soccer team secured a 1-0 victory over Stevenson University Wednesday evening, improving to 7-1 on the season ahead of their first Landmark Conference contest this Saturday at Scranton.
How It Went Down
- The River Hawks wasted little time finding the breakthrough, scoring just 1:59 into the contest on a set piece, with Amelia Kopp delivering a corner kick into the box. Baczor rose to meet the service and headed the ball into the net, giving Susquehanna the lead.
- Susquehanna's defense protected the lead throughout the remainder of the match, limiting Stevenson to just six shots, including three on goal. Katie Henchy made all three saves to record the shutout as the River Hawks held on for the 1-0 triumph.
