14 Susquehanna Football Players Land on All-Centennial Teams

2019 All-Centennial Football Selections
LANCASTER, Pa. – The Susquehanna University football team claimed 14 spots on the 2019 All-Centennial Conference Football Teams, including eight on the First Team, as announced by the league office Wednesday morning.
 
Seniors Mikah Christian (Bowie, Md./Bowie), Devon Lindeman (Freemansburg, Pa./Liberty), and junior Da'Avian Ellington (Carteret, N.J./Woodbridge) were named First Team Offense while seniors Cole Dixon (Dallas, Pa./Dallas), Craig Roumes (Succasunna, N.J./Roxbury), Danial Shelton (District Heights, Md./Wise), and sophomores Jhemir Stanley (Middletown, Del./St. George's Tech) and L'Trell Bradley (West Orange, N.J./West Orange) were selected to First Team Defense.
 
On Second Team Offense were senior Anthony McCoy (Rosedale, N.Y./Long Island Lutheran) and sophomore Dalton Simpson (Dallas, Pa./Dallas) while senior Kashief Hyatt (Upper Marlboro, Md./Wise) earned a spot on Second Team Defense. Sophomore Elijah Hoffman (Elysburg, Pa./Southern Columbia) represented the River Hawks on Second Team Specialists.
 
Senior Connor Young (Ledgewood, N.J./Roxbury) and sophomore Kyle Good (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) both garnered Honorable Mention Offense honors to round out Susquehanna's 14 All-Centennial selections.
 
The 14 All-Centennial selections are the most during the Tom Perkovich era.
 
Christian is picking up his second All-Centennial honor after being Honorable Mention as a sophomore in 2017. The 6-1 wide receiver averaged a league-best 17.3 yards per catch while being tied for fourth with six receiving touchdowns and ranking sixth with 57.0 receiving yards per game. He was also fourth in the Centennial with 23.5 kickoff return yards per game while being only one of three league players to return a kickoff for a TD.
 
Lindeman is making his second straight appearance on the All-Centennial First Team. The 5-11 offensive lineman helped Susquehanna rank second in the conference with 175.5 rushing yards per game and 25 rushing touchdowns while leading the Centennial with 4.8 yards per carry. The offensive line allowed only 22 sacks this season.
 
Ellington enjoyed his best campaign yet as he earns his first-ever all-conference honor. The 5-10 running back had a breakout season as he leads the Centennial with 1,060 rushing yards, 106.0 yards per game, 6.5 yards per carry, and 13 rushing touchdowns. He was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week on Sept. 10 and selected as the Centennial Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 10.
 
Dixon is garnering is third straight All-Centennial award but first at First Team as he earned Honorable Mention in 2017 and Second Team honors last season. The 6-0 inside linebacker has been a force to be reckoned with this season, ranking second in the conference with 87.0 tackles, third with 51 solo tackles, 36 assists, and three forced fumbles, fifth with 8.7 tackles per game, and sixth with six sacks and 13.5 tackles for loss.
 
Roumes was everywhere on defense this season, picking up his first-ever All-Centennial honor. The 5-8 outside linebacker was named twice to the D3football.com Team of the Week and selected as the Centennial Defensive Player of the Week on October 6. He led the league with five fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles while ranking fourth with seven sacks, fifth with 14.5 TFLs, and 10th with 45 solo tackles. Roumes also scored three of the team's four defensive touchdowns this season.
 
Shelton is wrapping up his career as a four-time All-Centennial performer, including three appearances in a row on the First Team. As a first-year, he landed on the Second Team and was named the 2016 Centennial Rookie of the Year. This season, the 5-11 defensive back contributed 27 tackles, four pass breakups (18th in Centennial), 3.5 TFLs, two interceptions (11th in Centennial), and one forced fumble.
 
Stanley is earning his first-ever all-conference award after collecting 32 tackles, 4.0 TFLs, and 1.5 sacks in nine starts.
 
Bradley is also a first-time Centennial all-star after recording 47 tackles, four pass breakups (18th in Centennial), two interceptions (11th in Centennial), 1.5 TFLs, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
 
McCoy is making his second All-Centennial appearance but first on the Second Team after earning Honorable Mention as a junior. The 6-1 tight end contributed 199 yards and four touchdowns (12th in Centennial) on 15 catches. He earned D3football.com Team of the Week honors on Oct. 1 after catching a career-best three touchdown passes in a 42-13 win over Franklin & Marshall College.
 
Simpson started all 10 games at center for the River Hawks. The 5-10 offensive lineman helped Susquehanna rank second in the conference with 175.5 rushing yards per game and 25 rushing touchdowns while leading the Centennial with 4.8 yards per carry. The offensive line allowed only 22 sacks this season.
 
Hyatt lands on the All-Centennial Second Team for the first time in his career after earning Honorable Mention last season. The 6-1 defensive lineman totaled 25 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss (14th in Centennial), 4.0 sacks (15th in Centennial), two pass breakups, and one fumble recovery in 10 starts this season.
 
Hoffman is earning his first-ever All-Centennial accolade after ranking second in the Centennial with 70 points and 49 extra points made and third with seven field goals made. The 6-0 kicker also ranks third with 70 kickoffs for 3,807 yards.
 
Another first-time All-Centennial selection, Young made his mark as the team's starting left guard in all 10 games. The 5-11 offensive lineman helped Susquehanna rank second in the conference with 175.5 rushing yards per game and 25 rushing touchdowns while leading the Centennial with 4.8 yards per carry. The offensive line allowed only 22 sacks this season.
 
The eighth of eight first-time honorees for Susquehanna is Good, who led the River Hawks with 41 receptions for a team second-best 454 yards (13th in league) and team third-best four touchdowns (12th in league). The 5-7 wide receiver ranks fourth in the Centennial with 4.1 receptions per game.
 
Susquehanna (9-1, 8-1 CC) wraps up the 2019 campaign this Saturday, November 23, when the River Hawks host Wilkes University (8-2, 7-2 MAC) in the 5th Annual Centennial-MAC Bowl Series. Kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. on Amos Alonzo Stagg Field in Doug Arthur Stadium.
