SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University
Sharief Hashim has appointed
Tim Kologrivov as the River Hawks' Interim Head Football Coach following the departure of head coach Tom Perkovich in December. Kologrivov, also known as "Coach Kolo", has been involved with Susquehanna Football for six seasons between two stints from 2015-17 and 2023 to present, serving as Defensive Coordinator since 2024.
Additionally, Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Line Coach
Cole Dixon '19 will take on more administrative responsibilities within the program. Dixon etched out an All-American career at Susquehanna from 2015-18 at linebacker, coinciding with Kologrivov's first run coaching the River Hawks. Dixon, who holds the career tackles for loss record (46) and ranks second all-time in career sacks (18), has been a coach with the program since 2021.
"We are sincerely grateful to Coach Kologrivov for stepping into this role within our successful football program," related Hashim. "Over the past two historic seasons, Coach Kolo has been instrumental in leading our defense, recruiting effectively, and enhancing the overall student-athlete experience. His leadership and recruiting efforts will be invaluable in the coming weeks as we continue to move the program forward."
"
Cole Dixon '19 has been a stalwart member of our football program for the past decade, as both a student-athlete and assistant coach," added Hashim. "His work ethic and commitment to Susquehanna Football are deeply appreciated as we conduct our search for the next head coach."
Kologrivov returned to Susquehanna in 2023 to serve as Defensive Line Coach, Co-Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Recruiting Coordinator. In 2024 he was promoted to Defensive Coordinator. His first year leading the defense the River Hawks advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the first time since 1991, then in 2025 the program reached the NCAA Quarterfinals, posting a 6-2 playoff record in that span. The defense had much to celebrate in 2025 with the coronation of defensive lineman
Galen Limantour being recognized as an All-American by D3football.com and the Associated Press (AP), along with receiving the Landmark Conference and D3football.com's Region 2 Defensive Player of the Year. Linebacker
Jesse Ruisch also turned in an All-American season, being selected as a Third Team All-American by AP and Third Team All-Region by D3football.com. Defensive back
Xavier Maple was awarded Second Team All-Region, rounding out a strong defensive unit that logged 24 turnovers in 2025, taking two turnovers back for a touchdown. Their 19 interceptions this fall was six more than they had during their semifinals run in 2024, with seven of them occurring during their first three NCAA Tournament games against Washington & Jefferson (two), Christopher Newport (three), and Eastern (two). The 2025 squad also amassed 30 total sacks, led by Limantour's 13.5 that ranks second all-time at Susquehanna.
"Thankful to President Green, Athletic Director
Sharief Hashim, our administration and alumni for the opportunity to lead the 2026 River Hawks into the next era here in Selinsgrove," said Kologrivov. "Looking forward to seeing the roster back on campus next week and beginning the 2026 campaign."
The Wyckoff, N.J. native played for head coach Drew Gibbs at Ramapo High School, winning a state championship in 2009. He went on to play at University of Albany under coach Bob Ford, picking up back-to-back Northeast Conference championships. Kologrivov played all across the defensive line for the Great Danes and was also the team's long snapper. He led the team in sacks and tackles for loss as a senior. Kologrivov graduated from University at Albany in 2015 with bachelor's degrees in history and sociology. He is a certified level 1 Olympic strength and conditioning coach.
Kologrivov began his coaching career with Susquehanna University from 2015-17, serving on Tom Perkovich's inaugural coaching staff. He coached the defensive line for all three seasons, and the outside linebackers in 2016. Susquehanna finished 24th in the country in 2017 in total defense. Kologrivov was responsible for recruiting in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and was responsible for recruiting All-American running back Da'Avian Ellington.
He moved on to St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, where he was the linebackers and special teams coordinator in 2019. He had previously held the role of recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach at SLU in 2018. Kologrivov oversaw and improved a special teams unit that, in 2019, scored 42 more points on special teams than the previous season, converted a pair of fake punts and blocked five kicks. In 2018, his defensive line led the Liberty League in sacks and tackles for loss.
His final stop before returning to the 570 was NJCAA Monroe College in New Rochelle, N.Y., where he was the Mustangs' Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach, presiding over the team's historic 2021 season that reached a bowl game following a 10-0 regular season. His defense swooped in for 19 interceptions with 38 passes broken up, and along with his specials teams combined for eight touchdowns and recovered 18 fumbles, both of which ranked number one in the nation.
