Box Score 2 Huntingdon, Pa. – Sophomore outfielder
Katherine Fahsbender (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXIII) collected four hits Saturday afternoon as the Susquehanna University softball team took on Juniata College in their final Landmark Conference doubleheader of the regular season.
Three home runs and five innings later, Susquehanna (16-13, 7-5 LC) picked up a 12-3 victory in the first game before Juniata (12-20, 2-8 Landmark) claimed the nightcap, 4-1. The split keeps the River Hawks in third in the conference standings with a week of league play still remaining.
Game 1

How It Happened
- Juniata struck first with two runs in the bottom of the first inning as Catherine Miller, the cleanup hitter, cracked a two-run shot over the right field fence with two outs on the board. The next batter then lined out to sophomore shortstop Kody Streeter (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) to end the inning.
- The River Hawks took one back in the top of the second inning when Streeter knocked a solo shot out of the park over the leftfield fence for her first career homer.
- The Eagles regained a two-run lead in their half of the second inning following a ground out with bases loaded to bring Maya McLeod, who lead off the inning with a single down the right field line.
- Freshman infielder Kiara Bryant (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) notched SU's second home run of the day to give the River Hawks a 5-3 lead in the third. Bryant launched her first career grand slam down the right field line to score freshman catcher Katie Koch (West Milton, Pa./Lewisburg Area), junior outfielder Kasey Bost (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty), and senior designated player Jill Ahrens (Clarence, N.Y./Sacred Heart).
- Susquehanna tacked on seven more runs with three runs in the fourth and four in fifth for the 12-3 final. The fifth inning was highlighted by Bost's fifth career dinger – a three-run bomb over the centerfield fence.
- Senior captain Alexa Gonzalez (Northport, N.Y./Northport) did her part to secure the win for SU by throwing 3.0 innings of relief, giving up just one hit as Gonzalez faced 12 batters in improving to 6-4 on the season.

- Susquehanna tallied 12 runs on 12 hits, including six extra-base hits, four walks, and one Eagle error.
- The River Hawks finished with a season second-best 11 RBI for the second time this season.

- Fahsbender and junior outfielder Emily Lear (Elmira, N.Y./Edison) each went 2-for-3 while Koch and Bost both finished 2-for-4 at the plate.

How It Happened
- Following two scoreless innings, the Eagles once again struck first with two runs in the bottom of the third inning. Ashley Clark, the No. 3 hitter, connected on a two-run double but sophomore Gabby Bubba (Jefferson, N.J./Pope John XXIII) kept Juniata to just two runs by striking out the next two batters.
- Susquehanna responded with a run in the top of the fourth inning when Fahsbender struck a double to left field to score Bryant, who drew a two-out walk and advanced to second on a wild pitch.
- Bubba retired the side in order in the fourth and fifth innings to keep it at a 2-1 deficit for SU.
- Juniata posted a three-run advantage with two more runs in the sixth, scoring a pair on a River Hawk fielding error.
- In the seventh, Koch connected on a two-out double to left field and went to third on a passed ball but Miller sealed the win by getting the last batter to ground out.

- Susquehanna stranded eight runners as the River Hawks scored one run on four hits, including three doubles. SU also drew six walks.
- The Eagles came up with four runs on five hits, including three doubles, and one SU error for their second Landmark win.
Top Performers
- Fahsbender was the only River Hawk with multiple hits as she once again went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Both of her hits were doubles.
- Bubba was saddled with the loss, falling to 3-2 on the season despite striking out seven. She allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits with three walks.
- Miller held SU to one run on four hits, walking six and striking out two in moving to 3-1 on the season.
