Towson, Md. – Three days after getting a gritty 6-3 win over The Catholic University of America on Senior Day to clinch a playoff spot, the Susquehanna University men's tennis team saw their 2018-19 campaign wrap up Tuesday afternoon.
Susquehanna (13-5), the No. 4 seed, dropped a 5-0 decision to the top-seeded and three-time defending Landmark Conference champion, Goucher College (16-5) in the semifinals of the Landmark Men's Tennis Championship Tournament.
The River Hawks were making their second straight appearance in the Landmark Tournament after earning their first-ever spot in the Landmark playoffs last season.

How It Happened
Doubles
- Goucher opened up the match with an 8-2 victory over seniors Alex Cocolas (High Bridge, N.J./Voorhees) and Alex Dove (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) at No. 1. The River Hawk duo finished the season with a 9-8 record.
- The Gophers staked a 2-0 lead following an 8-3 win over senior Nicholas Meale (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport Area) and freshman Emil Vyskocil (Cornwall-on-the-Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) at No. 3. The SU tandem ended the year with a team-best 17 wins and a 17-2 mark.
- Goucher stretched its advantage to 3-0 with an 8-4 triumph at No. 2 over seniors Ben Ornstein (Chappaqua, N.Y./Horace Greeley) and Ryan Seibert (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin). This River Hawk twosome completed their senior year with a 10-9 record.
Singles
- Tetsuya Ota, the 2018 Landmark Rookie of the Year, moved the Gophers one point closer to securing the team with his 6-0, 6-0 victory over Ornstein at No. 1 singles. Ornstein completed his senior year with a 9-9 record.
- Elliot Diehl propelled Goucher to Saturday's Landmark championship match with his 6-1, 6-0 triumph at No. 6 singles over senior Ashton Collins (Biddeford, Maine/Biddeford). Collins posted a 3-3 singles record in his final season as a River Hawk.
