SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University Men's Indoor Track and Field team had an excellent season opener, competing for the first time in almost two years. The Men's 1600m medley relay team took this opportunity to set a new program record, besting the previous record by over eight seconds. The River Hawks brought some well-deserved energy back to the field house, hosting six teams for competition this on Saturday. Susquehanna competed six team comprised of Juniata, Marywood, Misericordia, Penn State Harrisburg, Saint Mary's, and Scranton.
The 1600 medley relay team of Elliott Davis, Jack Warehime, Jonathon White, and Brandon Zimmerman posted a time of 3:39.02, easily beating the previous program record of 3:47.52. With this time, they were also able to pull out a first-place finish, defeating another Susquehanna group, comprised of Kareem Beck, Isaiah Blatt, Ian Dyson, and Ezra Miller, who posted a time of 3:48.98.
The 4x400 Isaiah Blatt, Blandin Conklin, Joshua Kimotho, and Brandon Zimmerman also pulled out a first place finish, posting a time of 3:37.87.
Zimmerman pulled out another great run in later in the meet, finishing with a time of 8.86 in the 60m hurdles, to earn first-place in the race. The time gives the first-year the fourth best finish in school history. In addition to Zimerman, Ezra Miller ran a strong race as well in the 60m hurdles, placing 4th overall with a time of 9.56, followed closely by Blake Shellenberger who finished fifth at 9.91 seconds.
Masser tied for the fifth best time in the program's history with his 60m dash time of 7.17, placing second overall. White also finished strong in the race placing 6th with a time of 7.50.
In the 200 meter run, Davis was the victor with a time of 23.36, winning by over half a second. Dyson pulled out a top five finish in the same race, placing fifth with his time of 24.46
In the 800 meter race, Bradshaw Henning and Kareem Beck were able to place second and third with times of 2:05.83 and 2:06.57.
In the men's mile first year Joshua Kimotho finished third overall with a time of 4:41.38. In the distance category John Sabella and Jack Warehime each notched strong finishes in the 3000m. Warehime placed third overall with 9:27.98 and Sabella finished 4th at 9:29.92.
In the high jump, Masser kept up his strong day tying for the 10th best height cleared in SU history, clearing 1.93m. Blatt and Keefer Goodspeed both were able to clear 4.25m in pole vault. This was 0.15 off their personal bests at 4.40m, which is currently the 4th highest height cleared in SU history.
The shot put event saw Ryan Macdonald and Tyler Hauk place second and third with their solid efforts. MacDonald threw 12.09 meters while Hauk posted a throw of 11.66 meters. Anthony Taddeo finished second in the event, posting a throw of 13.46 meters. Hauk and Connor Kodgis finished behind Taddeo with throws of 13.30 and 12.81 meters, respectively.

- The River Hawks return to action on January 14th, as they will be back at home for the Susquehanna Multi and Invitational. The meet will begin at 4 pm on the 14th and at 10 am on the 15th. No spectators will be permitted, but the event will be streamed on the Landmark TV Network.
