Box Score MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's tennis team picked up right where they left off 535 days ago, notching a season-opening victory Tuesday afternoon. Susquehanna (1-0) posted a convincing 8-1 win over the host Lions of Penn State Harrisburg (0-1) for the River Hawks' fourth straight triumph dating back to fall 2019.
 
How It Happened
Doubles

• Sophomore Conor Ryan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) and junior Emil Vyskocil (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y./Cornwall) tallied an 8-1 victory at No. 2 doubles while junior Ethan Cooley (Califon, N.J./Voorhees) and first-year Tim Basta (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) claimed a shutout win of 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.
• Penn State Harrisburg avoided the doubles sweep when first-year Mohammed Azlmat and senior Ryan McGlynn recorded a hard-fought 8-5 triumph at the top doubles flight.

 
Singles

• Basta registered his first collegiate singles win to go along with first collegiate doubles win as he notched a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3 singles.
• Sophomore Joshua Sanderson (Mount Wolf, Pa./Northeastern) picked up a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles before sophomore John Duncan (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) added a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles for a 5-1 River Hawks lead.
• Vyskocil came through with a 7-6 (5), 6-1 triumph at No. 1 singles followed by first-year Kyle Wagner's (Milton, Pa./Milton Area) first collegiate singles win, an impressive 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles, to bolster SU's advantage at 7-1.
• Cooley wrapped up the match with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles.
