Susquehanna Football Takes the Field on Saturday

Sideline celebration at Johns Hopkins (2019)
SELINSGROVE, Pa. - The Susquehanna University football team will finally be in action this Saturday, April 17, after 511 days away from the gridiron. The River Hawks will head south to Owings Mills, Md., to take on Stevenson University in Mustang Stadium at 4:00 p.m.

Saturday's matchup will be live-streamed at www.gomustangsports.tv and live stats provided as well.

SU is coming off a 2019 campaign which saw the River Hawks finished 16th and 18th in the final polls of the D3football.com and AFCA Division III Coaches Top 25 national rankings, respectively. Susquehanna recorded a 10-win season for the just the third time in program history (11 in 1986 and 1991) following their third consecutive Centennial-MAC Bowl win – an 88-24 victory over Wilkes University (8-3, 7-2 MAC) on November 23. The River Hawks, who haven't played since that Centennial-MAC Bowl game on November 23, posted a 10-1 (8-1 CC) overall record in 2019.

Last Saturday, Stevenson handed Alvernia University a 28-10 setback on April 10 as quarterback Ryan Sedgwick finished 16-25 passing for 212 yards and a pair of touchdowns and Kevin Joppy carried 28 times for a career-best 181 yards and a touchdown. The Mustangs finished the 2019 season with an 8-3 (7-1 MAC) record, ending the season with a 51-28 loss at Johns Hopkins University in the Centennial-MAC Bowl.

NOTE: The status of each contest is contingent upon campus, local, state and federal COVID-19 guidelines at that time.
