HUNTINGDON, Pa. – The Susquehanna University men's outdoor track & field team competed at the Juniata College Invitational on Saturday, going up against athletes from Juniata, Moravian College, and the University of Scranton. Susquehanna won six events while sophomore
Isaiah Blatt (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg Area) and junior
Jack Warehime (Hanover, Pa./Spring Grove Area) recorded a pair of Top 10 marks.
How It Happened
Blatt claimed the top mark in the pole vault with 4.55m, which ranks fifth all-time in the River Hawks' history, while junior
Keefer Goodspeed (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) placed third with 4.25m.
Warehime captured the 1,500m with a time of 4:00.50, which ranks 10th all-time at Susquehanna, while sophomore
Bradshaw Henning (Catasauqua, Pa./Catasauqua) won the 800m by clocking a 1:58.62.
First-year
Sal D'Adamo (Allentown, N.J./Allentown) crossed the finish line first in the 100m in 11.27 followed by junior
Trent McGuire (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) in second in 11.65.
Sophomore
Chance Singleton (Middle River, Md./New Town) placed first in the long jump with a mark of 5.99m followed by
McGuire in second (5.94m), first-year
Jackson Mabry (Orwigsburg, Pa./Blue Mountain) in third (5.88m),
Blatt in fourth (5.81m), and
Goodspeed in fifth (5.66m).
First-year
Joey Masser (Shamokin, Pa./Shamokin Area) won the triple jump with a mark of 12.89m followed by sophomore
Jake Newell (Ventnor City, N.J./Parsippany Hills) in second (12.07m) and
Blatt in third (11.98m).
In the 400m,
Singleton, senior
Alejandro Gillespie (Morristown, N.J./Storm Ring), and sophomore
Ian Dyson (Ridgefield, Conn./Ward Melville (N.Y.)) placed second (52.87), third (53.31), and fourth (53.89), respectively. In the 200m,
Singleton,
D'Adamo,
Dyson, and
Gillespie came in second (22.56), third (23.35), fourth (23.39), and fifth (23.64), respectively.
The River Hawks took second in the 3,000m as sophomore
Shane Urban (Victor, N.Y./Victor Central) finished in 9:24.10. Junior
John Sabella (Vineland, N.J./St. Augustine Prep) placed third in 9:34.41 followed by first-year
Isaac Martin (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) in fourth in 9:50.11.
Newell picked up a second-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.70m while first-year
Tyler Hauk (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) came in second in the discus with a mark of 41.98m.
Junior
Curtis Anthony (South Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport) was second in the javelin with a mark of 47.57m followed by junior
Sam Hebert (Rockport, Maine/Camden Hills Regional) in third with 46.49m.
First-year
Matthew Masser (Shamokin, Pa./Shamokin Area) led SU in the 400m hurdles with a third-place finish in 1:01.18 while first-year
Ryan MacDonald (Oradell, N.J./River Dell) had the team's highest finish in the shot put, finishing third with a mark of 11.85m.
J. Masser followed
MacDonald in fourth with 11.43m and junior
Anthony Taddeo (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) was fifth with 11.28m.
Taddeo led SU in the hammer with a fourth-place finish with a mark of 41.69m while first-year
Declan Griffin (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park Memorial) paced the River Hawks in the 5,000m with a seventh-place finish in 17:42.36.
