Box Score SELINSGROVE, PA (October 10, 2022) – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team finished out their fall 2022 season on Monday afternoon with their third day in a row of matches. They welcomed Penn College to Selinsgrove and took their first victory of the year over the Wildcats, sweeping them 9-0.
The River Hawks began the day with an uncontested victory at #3 doubles for the pairing of Julia Pardo and Kristen Bair. Eliza Mahoney and Chelsea Kneedler took the first match victory with an 8-2 victory at #2 doubles, followed by Grace Tepes and Isabella Scappaticci taking an 8-3 win at #1 doubles. Up 3-0 and firmly in control of the match, SU moved on to singles play.
Mahoney got an uncontested victory at #6 singles, followed by Bair who took a 6-0, 6-0 win at #3 singles and clinched the match for Susquehanna with their fifth point of the day. Next to finish was Tepes, who won at #2 singles with a score of 6-3, 6-2. Pardo won 7-5, 6-2 at #5 singles, while Kneedler followed with a win at #4 singles in a tightly contested match. She won the first set 7-6 with the tiebreaker before going on to sweep 6-0 in the second set. Scappaticci also had a tiebreaker in her match at #1 singles to finish the day, winning 7-6 in set one before taking a 6-3 win in set two.
With the 9-0 win closing out their fall season, SU will now prepare for the rest of their season in the spring, when Landmark Conference play will begin.
