LEXINGTON, VA (March 18, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field team started the 2022 outdoor season Friday evening, competing at the Washington & Lee University Carnival in the first day of action.
The highlight of the day for the River Hawks was in the long jump, as
Joey Masser finished second in the event, recording a mark of 6.82 meters. Masser posted his mark on his final jump, eclipsing his previous daily best of 6.79 meters.
Also in the long jump,
Isaiah Blatt finished 17th overall with a mark of 5.64, while teammate
Josh Leininger was 19th after leaping to a mark of 5.54 meters. In the javelin throw, Samuel Hebert finished ninth with a distance of 46.40 meters, while teammate
Curtis Anthony registered a distance of 44.96 meters for 11th place.
In the shot put,
Anthony Taddeo registered a mark of 11.43 meters for 18th place, while
Tyler Hauk posted a distance of 10.90 meters for 23rd place. On the track,
Bradshaw Henning posted a new personal-best time of 4:25.19 in the 1500 meters while
Shane Urban followed closely with a time of 4:28.69.
Also in the 1500 meters, TJ Grenda registered a time of 4:30.18 and
Declan Griffin chalked up a new personal-best time of 4:31.94. Jack McCamish and
Andrew McDowell finished with times of 5:06.54 and 5:09.11, respectively.
