LEXINGTON, VA (March 19, 2022) -- First-year
Brandon Zimmerman posted the sixth-best all-time mark in the 400 meter hurdles with a 54.78 to highlight action in day two at the Washington & Lee University Carnival.
There were an abundance of strong finishes for the River Hawks on Saturday, but Zimmerman's was noteworthy as he finished third overall. Zimmerman was one of six regional qualifying marks or times for the River Hawks on Saturday.
The Susquehanna 4x100 meter relay finished second overall as
Ian Dyson,
Joey Masser, Zimmerman and
Jonathon White sprinted to a time of 42.76. The 110 meter hurdles saw
Blake Shellenberger post a time of 17.92 to take 10th place, while
Elliott Davis finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.24.
Jack Warehime posted a career-best time of 53.25 for ninth place in the 400 meters, and
Jake Newell also established a new personal-best of 53.47 to take 11th place. Junior
Ian Dyson qualified for regionals after finishing seventh in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.38, a new personal best.
Sophomore
Joey Masser was ninth in the 200 meters with a time of 22.77, a new collegiate best time.
In the field events,
Isaiah Blatt posted a regional-qualifying mark in the pole vault by clearing 4.51 meters, finishing second overall. Senior
Keefer Goodspeed was third in the pole vault with a height of 4.36 meters, and
Keith Green took third in the triple jump after recording a mark of 12.94 meters.
Anthony Taddeo was 12th in the hammer throw with a distance of 39.46, and
Tyler Hauk took 14th place in the hammer with a throw of 38.92.

- The River Hawk men's track and field team will host the Jim Taylor Invitational at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field at Doug Arthur Stadium Friday and Saturday, with the team's seniors being honored Saturday for Senior Day.
