SELINSGROVE, PA (April 15, 2022) -- Susquehanna University split its squad up to send competitors to both the 2022 Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University and the 2022 Greyhound Invitational at Moravian University Friday.
At Bucknell,
Jack Warehime competed in the unseeded 1500 meter run against some very strong competition. Warehime finished 12th overall and second among Division III runners with a new season-best time of 3:57.01. The time was nine seconds faster than his previous personal-best, while qualifying him for the AARTFC regional meet in the process.
The rest of the squad was at Moravian Friday, as the team registered six regional-qualifying marks on the afternoon. Junior
Ian Dyson ran a time of 10.93 in the prelims to finish second, improving on that time with a 10.90 in the finals though both times were wind-aided.
In the 110 high hurdles, SU had a few strong performances as Matthew Masser posted a personal-best time of 15.56 seconds for a regional-qualifying time to take fourth place. First-year
Ezra Miller qualified for the finals as well, and posted a new PR with a time of 16.17 seconds.
Benjamin Bulger was third overall in the 400 meter hurdles after running a AARTFC qualifying and personal-best time of 56.87 seconds. In the 400 meters, first-year
Elliott Davis was eighth overall with a new PR of 51.14.
The 1500 meter run saw junior
Bradshaw Henning earn 10th place with a new lifetime best of 4:16.19. The 4x100 meter relay was second overall with a regional-qualifying effort of 43.08, as
Jonathon White,
Joey Masser, Dyson and
Isaiah Blatt combined for the time.
Blatt recorded a new season-best mark in the pole vault, tying his personal-best with a 4.60 meter height. Senior
Keefer Goodspeed was right behind Blatt in the vault, recording a height of 4.30 meters for fifth place.
The 4x400 meter relay finished third overall after running a season-best time as a group, thanks to Davis, Henning, Masser and
Jake Newell finishing in 3:30.37.
Joey Masser earned fifth place in the long jump after finishing with a 6.49 mark on his third leap. First-year
Josh Leininger was eighth with a new personal-best distance of 6.18 meters. First-year
Ethan Roe registered a new PR with a distance of 11.25 meters in the triple jump for eighth place.
Sophomore
Tyler Hauk posted a regional-qualifying mark of 42.15 meters for seventh place in the discus, while Ryan MacDonald had a huge PR in the discus with a 39.75 meter throw for 11th place. Junior Samuel Hebert was seventh in the javelin, starting the event with a toss of 48.96 meters.
