Isaiah Blatt and sophomore
Joey Masser each finished the decathlon, while the open discus was also contested.
Blatt moved up in the standings to finish fourth in the decathlon, registering 5311 points, while Masser was fifth overall after posting 5001 points. The point total for Blatt was the fifth-best in Susquehanna program history as he finished strong in the second day of competition.
The athletes started the second day with the 110 meter hurdles, and Masser won his third event of the decathlon with a time of 15.50 seconds to win his year and earn 790 points. Blatt also won his heat, clocking in with a new personal-best time of 16.34 for third place and 695 points.
In the discus, Masser and Blatt were 10-11 in the standings after posting distances of 25.36 and 23.11 meters, respectively. Blatt would rebound in his specialty event, winning the pole vault with a height of 4.55 meters to earn 775 points. Masser was seventh in the pole vault after clearing 3.15 meters for 393 points.
In the javelin throw, Blatt picked up 475 points with a seventh-place finish after posting a new personal-best of 42.27 meters on his final attempt. Masser logged a distance of 40.31 meters for 447 points for ninth place.
The final event was the 1500 meter run and Masser led the way for the River Hawks, as he was 10th overall with a time of 5:30.43. Masser earned 397 points, while Blatt was 12th to earn 372 points after running a 5:35.54.
Sophomore
Tyler Hauk continued his strong throwing of late in the men's discus throw, as he earned the victory with a throw of 42.65 meters. Hauk's final mark came on his last throw, though he posted the five top marks in the competition.
