SELINSGROVE, PA (May 15, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field squad competed at a pair of meets this weekend, heading to the Princeton University Elite Invitational Saturday before heading to the the ROC City Final Chance Meet on Sunday.
Saturday, first-year
Brandon Zimmerman and junior
Keith Green were accepted into the meet at Princeton. Zimmerman finished 12th overall in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 57.15, while Green didn't mark after fouling on all three attempts in New Jersey in the triple jump.
SU had a larger contingent at Nazareth College on Sunday af the ROC City Final Chance meet, including three in the 400 meter finals. First-year
Elliott Davis ran a 51.24 to finish ninth overall, while
Jonathon White just missed his personal-best time with a 52.14. Junior
Jake Newell was 14th in the timed finals with a 52.60.
In the 400 meter hurdles, Zimmerman ran the event for the second straight day and bettered his time with a 56.95 for third place overall. A pair of pole vaulters would compete for SU, and junior
Isaiah Blatt and senior
Keefer Goodspeed each cleared 4.55 meters for fifth and sixth place, respectively.
Zimmerman also competed in the long jump, earning 10th place with a mark of 6.42 meters on his fifth attempt. Green took fourth place in the triple jump, just missing his personal-best mark with a 13.59 meter leap. Sophomore
Tyler Hauk also threw in the discus, as he earned eighth place with a distance of 42.70 meters.
