BETHLEHEM, PA (May 18, 2022) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field squad competed in day one of action at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships Wednesday evening at Moravian University. The River Hawks are 17th as a team after posting seven points on the day.
Susquehanna's top finish the the day came in the pole vault, as junior
Isaiah Blatt earned a new personal-best height of 4.70 meters to earn fourth place overall. Blatt cleared his first attempt at 4.40 meters and 4.55 meters. He needed three chances to get over 4.70 meters, as his mark was the third-best in program history.
Senior
Keefer Goodspeed also took ninth place in the pole vault as he posted a height of 4.40 meters. The men's 4x400 meter relay also scored points for the River Hawks, as the quartet of
Jake Newell,
Elliott Davis,
Jonathon White and
Brandon Zimmerman ran a 3:21.21, a season-best time for the River Hawks in the event.
In the men's 110 high hurdles, first-year
Benjamin Bulger just missed qualifying for finals as he took home ninth place with a time of 15.37. The time was a personal-best effort for the newcomer, as he bested his previous time of 15.54. Sophomore Mathew Masser was 13th overall with a time of 15.62, and teammate
Ezra Miller was 14th after recording a time of 15.64.
In the men's discus throw, sophomore
Tyler Hauk recorded a distance of 40.03 meters to take 27th place overall. Junior
Keith Green also finished 14th in the triple jump, using his final jump to post a distance of 13.52 meters.
Senior
John Sabella finished the night's competition for the River Hawks, as he finished 22nd overall in the 10000 meter run with a time of 33:32.43.
