SELINSGROVE, PA (January 14, 2023) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field squad hosted its second home meet of the season, competing in the River Hawk Invitational in Garrett Sports Complex Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Bryce Ellinger picked another win the high jump, as he cleared 1.98 meters, while first-year
Marcus Moyer was third in the event thanks to his final mark of 1.87 meters. Senior
Jake Newell was fourth as well with a 1.82 meter height.
In the pole vault, senior
Isaiah Blatt cleared 4.60 meters to take second place, while
Jackson Mabry was also a runner-up in the triple jump as he registered a 13.34 meter leap. First-year
Cole Goodwin finished second in the shot put with a mark of 13.50 meters, and then he took third place in the weight throw with a personal-best throw of 13.55 meters.
Senior
Ian Dyson was third in the 60 meter dash preliminaries after running a 7.23, and then followed that up with a 7.19 performance in the finals to take sixth place. First-years
Alex Evitts and
Justin Weychert were fourth and fifth in the 400 meter run, as they registered times of 54.98 and 55.47, respectively.
In the 60 meter hurdles, Susquehanna placed five runners in the top eight to advance to the finals. Sophomore
Ezra Miller and sophomore
Benjamin Bulger each ran an 8.87 in the finals, while junior Mathew Masser was fourth overall after racing to an 8.93. First-year
Rowan Smith took seventh place after crossing the line in 9.27, and junior
Blake Shellenberger took home eighth with a 9.70.
In the weight throw, junior
Tyler Hauk finished second after recording a heave of 14.15 meters on his fourth attempt.
Susquehanna is back in action next Friday evening at the Ramapo Invitational in New York, NY at The Armory.
