NEW YORK (January 20, 2023) -- The Susquehanna University men's track and field team traveled to the Big Apple on Friday evening, competing at The Armory Track and Field Center in the Ramapo College Opener.
Senior
Ian Dyson led the River Hawks in the short sprints, as he was 20th in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.27 seconds. He then raced to an eighth-place finish in the 200 meter dash, completing the race with a 23.01. Sophomore
Benjamin Bulger was 17th in the 400 meter run with a time of 53.13, while senior
Bradshaw Henning posted a new personal best time in the 600 meters of 1:26.68 for 12th place.
Senior
Jack Warehime finished eighth overall with a time of 4:23.99 in the mile, and first-year Carter Smirk was sixth int he 60 meter finals after running an 8.66. SU's 4x400 meter relay took 12th place, as
Ezra Miller, Smirk,
Rowan Smith and Dyson combined to run a 3:35.17.
In the high jump, first-year
Marcus Moyer led the way with a 1.81 meter leap for seventh place, and senior
Jake Newell cleared 1.81 meters as well for eighth place. Junior
Joey Masser was runner-up in the long jump, finishing his six jumps with his final mark of 6.81 meters. Sophomore
Brandon Zimmerman was eighth in the long jump with a distance of 6.41 meters.
Junior
Jackson Mabry earned eighth place in the triple jump with a leap of 12.35 meters, while
Cole Goodwin finished 10th in the shot put after recording a distance of 13.41 meters. Junior
Tyler Hauk was 13th in the weight throw with a mark of 12.65 meters.
SU will be back in action on Saturday, January 28 in Rochester, NY, taking part in the Interconference Battle at Nazareth College.
