Men's Track and Field Dan Graham

High Performances Abound to Open Outdoors at Jim Taylor Invitational

SELINSGROVE, PA (March 25, 2023) – The second day of Susquehanna men's track and field hosting the Jim Taylor was a wet one, but offered plenty of chances for the River Hawks to make a splash. Susquehanna earned four second-place finishes in a crowded field that covered all three divisions, while earning a pair of AARTFC qualifying marks.

Saturday's festivities also marked Senior Day for six student-athletes – Bradshaw Henning, Jack Warehime, Isaiah Blatt, Ian Dyson, Jake Newell, and Bryce Ellinger – who were honored alongside their family and teammates.

The pole vaulter Blatt wasted no time on his senior day to claim a stake for the AARTFC Championships, earning a qualifying mark by finishing second at 4.45m. Marcus Moyer placed second in the high jump at 1.86m. Elliott Davis took a second-place finish in the 400 with his time of 50.18, while the 4x400 relay team of Brandon Zimmerman, Joey Masser, Blake Shellenberger, and Henning were the silver finishers in a time of 3:29.10. All four marks were the best among NCAA Division III competition.

Tyler Hauk picked up an AARTFC bid with his fourth-place finish in the discus at 44.15m, posting a new PR and the best throw among D3 competitors. Dyson posted the fifth-best time in the 200 meters with his mark of 22.93, again serving as the best Division III time.

Henning also used his senior day to finish 15th in the 800 meters at 2:01.89, 30th in the 1500 meters. Warehime too ran the 1500, leading the SU runners with a 22nd-place finish of 4:17.44, then competed in the high jump to clear 1.71m.

TJ Grenda posted an eighth-palce finish in the 10,000 meters to open the day with his time of 34:39.20, while Zimmerman earned eighth in the 400 meters with a time of 52.28.
The River Hawks take flight again next weekend, heading to the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener University Friday, Mar. 31 and Saturday, April 1.
