NEW YORK, N.Y. (March 4, 2023) – Benjamin Bulger and Bryce Ellinger each finished third in the heptathlon and high jump, respectively, while Elliott Davis took part in two new school records Saturday to help secure the Susquehanna University men's track and field team's best-ever finish at the AARTFC Championships in 11th place.

Bulger, who stood in third after the four opening events Friday with 2498 points, retained his spot by finishing with 4,442 points. He earned the third-best time in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.79, then throwing for 3.40m in the pole vault and running for 2:56.99 in the 1000 meters. Ellinger secured third place in the high jump, clearing 2.00m on his third attempt after entering the fray at 1.95m. Carter Smink, who reached the 60-meter hurdle finals after posting a 8.46 preliminary time Friday, finished fifth in Saturday's finals with a time of 8.48.

Davis finished ninth in the 400 meters with a new school record of 49.76, then served on the 4x200 team with Ian Dyson, Austin Hurrell, and Isaiah Blatt that broke the school mark with a time of 1:31.19 to finish seventh. Dyson set a new personal best in the 200 meters at 22.59 that put him third all-time in the school record books.

The River Hawks locked in 20.5 points for 11th in the meet for their highest finish since the AARTFC Championships began in 2019. Susquehanna prepares for the NCAA Division III Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Ala. next weekend.
