Box Score HUNTINGDON, PA (April 19, 2023) – SU women's tennis got their first conference win of the season on Wednesday afternoon, traveling to face Juniata College and coming away with an 8-1 win.
In command from the start, the River Hawks swept doubles play, with Julie Bramley and Chelsea Kneedler winning 8-4 at #1 doubles, Sophia Koons and Grace Tepes winning 8-0 at #2 doubles, and Kristen Bair and Julia Pardo also getting an 8-0 sweep at #3 doubles.
Singles play continued to go the way of SU, with three players getting 6-0, 6-0 sweeps, those being Bramley at #1 singles, Koons at #3 singles, and Bair at #5 singles. Tepes took a 6-0, 6-2 win at #5 doubles, while the River Hawks narrowly missed out on the match sweep as Kneedler fell in a closely fought 6-4, 6-3 defeat at #2 singles.
Now finished with Landmark play, the squad will round out their season on Sunday, April 23 as they visit King's College (PA) for a 1 pm start.
