Masser Chases Record Books Yet Again in 110H at Moravian

BETHLEHEM, PA (April 22, 2023) – Joey Masser again took a bite out of the Susquehanna record books during the team's weekend residence at Moravian's Coach P Invitational, setting a new standard in the 110-meter hurdles at 14.38, which is 10th-best in NCAA Division III this season.

Masser also had success in the long jump, going for 7.01m to finish in third place and grabbing the 23rd-longest jump in the nation, while also placing third in the triple jump at 13.68m. Benjamin Bulger finished first in the 400-meter hurdles, locking in a time of 54.60 for fifth all-time. Elliott Davis again dazzled in the 400 meters with a winning time of 49.20, just one week after securing the Landmark Conference record in the event. Bryce Ellinger won the high jump at 2.05m before attempting the national lead at 2.10m. Carter Smink finished third in the 110h with his time of 14.84, which is sixth all-time.

During Friday's throwing events, all five men threw for personal bests in the hammer throw, with Tyler Hauk's launch of 45.41m giving him fifth in the event and a sixth-place spot in the record books. Cole Goodwin threw for 39.33m, while Ryan Macdonald secured a mark of 39.80m, Logan deMey 37.53m, and Tim Kizis 29.70. In the shot put Goodwin's throw of 13.56m earned him 11th in the competition and a new personal best, as did Macdonald who measured in at 13.34m and deMey at 10.83m.

On Saturday Hauk continued his prowess with a second-place finish in the discus with a PR of 45.62m. Isaiah Blatt finished tied for second in the pole vault at 4.60m, then turned in a fourth-place finish in the 100 meters at 11.14.

The River Hawks relay teams will run the 4x100 and 4x400 at this week's stories Penn Relays this Friday. Ian Dyson, Blatt, Austin Hurrell, and Davis will run the 4x100, while the foursome of Bulger, Bradshaw Henning, Ezra Miller, and Davis will face the 4x400.
