Bryce Ellinger Matches Career Best for Bronze at NCAA Championships!

PITTSFORD, N.Y. - Jumper Bryce Ellinger matched his career best, using his second attempt to clear 2.08m to place third at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on Saturday.

With his clear of 2.05m on his third try, he advanced along with the remaining competitors Brady Vilvens from Wilmington (Ohio) and Harry Rienecker-Found of Tufts. Vilvens and Rienecker-Found both made 2.08m on their first tries, with all three attempting the national standard of 2.11m. Vilvens and Rienecker-Found finished as co-champions, opting not to do a jump-off.

Saturday put the exclamation point on Ellinger's spring, where he won the Landmark Conference championship by setting his career best at 2.08m, while earning All-Region honors from the USTFCCCA and most recently the association's Mid-Atlantic Region Field Athlete of the Year. Additional highlights included earning Landmark Field Athlete of the Week twice when he cleared a then-record 2.07m during Susquehanna's Easter Invite and 2.05m at Moravian's Coach P Invitational. He also qualified for indoor nationals back in March for the high jump down in Birmingham, Ala.
