Women's Tennis Hits Tough Part of Landmark Season with Moravian, Goucher

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna University women's tennis team reached the challenging part of their Landmark Conference season with Saturday's meet-up at Moravian and a home contest Tuesday with Goucher. Both matches resulted in 9-0 outcomes for SU's opponents.

Against the Greyhounds the closest doubles match came at two, where the team of Katelyn Richter and Isabella Scappaticci played Emily Masters / Sydney Shifman to an 8-6 match. Next closest was in the one spot, where Julia Bramley and Alexa Wanamaker challenged Mara Stapleton / Izzy Szmodis to an 8-4 contest. Scappaticci was subject to a pair of 6-3 defeats at two singles to Ali Bender.

Going up versus Landmark power Goucher, several good contests were waged. Bramley and Scappaticci were paired at one doubles with Natalia Navarro and Lucy Ingraham, with the latter winning 8-4. Scappaticci and Ingraham dueled again at two singles, which served as the tightest set of the contest, with Scappaticci coming up just short 6-4 in the opening frame and a 6-0 defeat in set two. Bramley took a total of four games against Navarro as her Goucher counterpart won by matching 6-2 scores.
