HUMMELS WHARF, PA – If last week was any indication of the Susquehanna Women's Golf team's success going into the 2024-25 season, Sunday's meetup with NCAA Division II Lock Haven was the full picture. Played again at SU's home Susquehanna Valley Country Club, the River Hawks took out their bird counterparts by 70 strokes, 331-401. The team score stands as the lowest in program history.
Susquehanna's first-years controlled the top three spots on the leaderboard, led by
Kennedy Petrovich and
Isabella Westerfield each scoring an 80 and both carding nine pars.
Peyton Cerminaro was next with an 83, scoring seven pars. Sophomore
Molly Rohan completed Susquehanna's sweep of the top four with an 88, reaching par on five holes, three of which were par-fives.
Lock Haven made its way onto the leaderboard in fifth and sixth by Macy Trostle's 93 and Kendall Fedder's 97, respectively. Fedder was the only golfer on the day with a birdie, doing so on the par-four third hole. River Hawks senior
Sara Rados was seventh with a 99 score, while first-year
Kellyn Hackett-Slimm was 11th with a 110.
Susquehanna opens its Landmark Conference season Friday, Sept. 27 at Wilkes from Tunkhannock's Stone Hedge Golf Course.
