SUFH Dominates Drew for Fourth Straight Win

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna field hockey took Drew for four unanswered goals on Saturday in a 4-0 victory, extending their win streak to four and improving to 3-1 in Landmark Conference play. It also accounted for the Rangers' second loss of the season and first in conference action at 11-2 and 3-1, respectively.

How it Happened:
  • From the first whistle, the River Hawks were in business deep inside of Drew territory, tallying a total of seven shots in the first frame.
  • The Drew defense stood strong throughout the first quarter, pushing away any opportunity at a goal for SU through the first fifteen.
  • Midway through the second quarter, coming off a blocked shot by Gracie Roush, Jada Thompson netted the first SU goal of the afternoon.
  • The River Hawks held a slight 1-0 lead at the half.
  • Haley Dreisbach added her name to the list of River Hawks to score on the afternoon, as Dreisbach rallied behind her own rebound, pushing the ball past the outstretched leg of Ranger goalkeeper, Beth Kelly.
  • The third quarter rout was not finished after the Dreisbach assurance goal, as Emma Campitelli continued her dominant season, finding the back of the cage once more, tallying the goal of a shot that just barely missed by Jada Thompson.
  • The shooting rout continued into the fourth quarter, where the River Hawks tallied chance after chance, being turned away each time until a shot by Emma Campitelli deflected off the right pad of goalkeeper Beth Kelly right onto Jada Thompson's stick. Thompson pushed the ball to the back of the cage, tallying her second goal on the afternoon, ending the game with her first career two goal day.
  • The River Hawks turned away any opportunity the Rangers had in the closing moments, shutting out their first Conference opponent of the season.
