SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna field hockey and Head Coach Allison Fordyce announced the captains for the 2026 season.  Seniors Hannah Garlin and Taylor Rothermel, and junior Kiara Koeller were selected.

Garlin, the 2023 Landmark Rookie of the Year, is a senior defender from State College, PA. She started all 21 games for the River Hawks last season, leading the team in penalty corners taken. She scored a career-high four goals, scoring two in one game against Franklin and Marshall. She earned one defensive save in the Landmark Conference Semifinals against Elizabethtown. 

Rothermel is a senior from Dornsife, PA. She started all 21 games as a forward for the team last season, scoring eight goals while assisting on three. She scored the game winner against Juniata and tallied one defensive save against Dickinson. Rothermel recorded a pair of two goal games against King's College of PA. and Elizabethtown.  

Koeller is a junior from Hackettstown, NJ.  She started all 21 games last season for the team. She recorded four goals and four assists, while finishing the season with 12 points. She recorded a two-goal game including the game winning goal against Catholic University.  

Coach Fordyce and her captains are aiming to record a Landmark Conference Championship game appearance, marking the teams' fourth consecutive appearance in four seasons, while looking to build off the team's strong record of 13-8. The team opens the season on Sept. 1 against Franklin and Marshall. Key match ups throughout the season include traveling to the University of Rochester, Ithaca College, and facing Cortland at home.
