NEWVILLE, PA – The Susquehanna University women's cross country team returns to the Big Spring High School course this Saturday for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships. After steady improvement throughout the season and a strong showing at the Landmark Championships, the River Hawks are poised for a competitive postseason performance.
Susquehanna's lineup is led by
Sophia Bostwick and
Griane Reed, who have consistently set the pace for the team all fall. Both runners performed well on the same course earlier this season and will look to use that experience to their advantage in Saturday's championship environment.
Rounding out the top seven are
Jess Askins,
Julianna Sobocinski,
Ayla Kerwan,
Riley Schlosser, and
Ava Warner, with
Sydney Querry serving as the team's alternate. The group has tightened significantly over the past month, giving Susquehanna the depth and consistency needed to move up in the regional standings.
Coach Ryan McGuire praised the team's approach heading into the postseason: "If the team shows up and runs in a pack as they did at Landmark Champs, we should put up a strong showing."
