Women Make Dazzling Debut Hosting Weekend's Early Season Multi and Invite

SELINSGROVE, PA – The Susquehanna women's track and field team made their winter debut Saturday and Sunday hosting their Early Season Multi and Invitational. Charlotte Houle competed over both days in the Pentathlon and Sunday's high jump.

THE PENTATHLON
  • Charlotte Houle – Served as SU's lone competitor in the multis on Saturday, finishing seventh with 2,404 points. Took 621 points in the high jump at 1.50m and another 515 points in the 800 meters at 2:45.13.
MEET HIGHLIGHTS
  • Bella Dauberman – Won the weight throw and shot put at 13.76m and 11.04m, respectively.
  • Pole Vault – Newcomer Kendall Simms made an impressive debut clearing 3.17m after entering at 3.12m. Only needed her first tries to clear both heights for the top mark of the meet. Sophia Bostwick placed third at 2.87m.
  • Mile Run – Riley Schlosser and Katie Wojton placed second and third, respectively after logging sub-six minute times. Schlosser at 5:50.67 and Wojton 5:57.31.
  • 60-Meter Hurdles – Alyssa Varias placed second at 10.05, while first-year Evelyn Staugaitis ran 10.22.
  • 400 Meters – Senior Ashley Newman ran a third-place time of 1:06.13, with only two runners from Penn State's track and field club team besting that mark.
  • 3,000 Meters – A quarter of River Hawks finished under 12 minutes to take spots two through five. Julianna Sobocinski placed second at 11:42.64, followed by Jess Askins at 11:54.58, Sydney Querry 11:59.21 and Ava Warner 11:59.39.
  • 200 Meters – Nakayah Tyler posted the best time in her heat at five with a time of 28.96, good for sixth overall.
  • Long Jump – Ashley Newman went from the track to the sand pit to post the sixth-farthest jump at 4.44m on her second try.
  • Weight Throw – Keira Carbone finished second behind Dauberman at 13.15m.
  • Shot Put – Carbone placed third with a throw of 10.66m on her first try. Paulina Biagioni also crossed the ten-meter threshold finishing fourth at 10.35m.
  • High Jump – Charlotte Houle had another crack at the high jump on Sunday, clearing 1.48m.
