COLLEGEVILLE, PA - In just her first season, pole vaulter
Kendall Simms accomplished what many aspire to do over the course of their careers. After spending much of her indoor and outdoor season reshaping the school pole vault records, Simms used her last performance at the AARTFC Championships to do it once more with a third-place mark of 3.78m. The regional championships were hosted at Ursinus College.
HOW IT WENT DOWN
- As aforementioned, Simms finished third in the pole vault after clearing 3.78m, upping the outdoor school record from her previous best of 3.66m set at Ithaca last weekend.
- Sophia Bostwick and Alison Sponseller ran the 5,000 meters. Bostwick finished 15th with a time of 18:11.42, while Sponseller finished 28th at 18:42.77.
- Bella Dauberman led a trio of River Hawks in the javelin as her 32.88m mark put her 17th. Brooke Charnosky threw 32.71m for 19th place, while senior Ainslee Binkley finished her career throwing 31.61m for 20th.
- Hurdler Alyssa Varias finished her great premiere season with a time of 15.86 in the 100-meter hurdles preliminaries.
SEASON IN REVIEW
