UPPERCO, MD - A great regular season of Susquehanna University women's golf reached its final 18 holes on Monday as the River Hawks ventured down to Piney Branch Country Club for the Stevenson University Spring Invitational. The team shot a 372 (+92) on the day, good for fourth place that featured schools like Gettysburg, host Stevenson and Hood, each of whom placed in the top three, respectively.
First-years
Isabella Westerfield and
Kennedy Petrovich each finished sixth with 89 scores (+19), as Petrovich scored six pars and Westerfield five. Fellow rookie
Peyton Cerminaro was next up with a 95 (+25), making three pars on the afternoon, while senior
Sara Rados finished with a 99 (+29), earning one par for the day.
Molly Rohan completed Susquehanna's stay with a 103 (+33), finishing with one par.
Winner Gettysburg boasted four golfers on the day, all of whom placed in the top 14 to secure the victory. Natalie Boyd represented the Bullets as the team's top finisher with an 85 (+15) on the par-70, 5,604-yard course. Albright's Fatima Rizvi finished with an 82 (+12) to medal for the day, turning in one birdie, while Stevenson's Alexis Marsh had an 85 (+15) as did Hood's Mary Emma Guildi to post a three-way tie for second.
It's now Landmark Conference championship time for the River Hawks as they'll use the rest of this week to match up for this weekend's championship set, running Saturday, April 26 to Sunday, April 27 at the Shawnee Inn and Golf Club in Delaware, Pa.
