Box Score HUNTINGDON, PA - Susquehanna women's tennis had a rough go in a Tuesday afternoon Landmark matchup at Juniata, with the Eagles taking a 7-0 decision. While the final score suggested a Juniata runaway, the River Hawks did celebrate a win at three doubles with
Katherine Yoder and
Abigail Freeman beating Nina Medows and Katie Wagoner by a 6-4 score.
The two doubles team of
Kaiya Reisinger and
Amelia Maguire played a close set against Sydney Madlock and Charlie Madlock, though the later came through with a 6-4 victory. Compounded with a 6-0 sweep by the JC team of Medina Yessenaliyeva and Celia Navarro de Torres at the expense of
Alexa Wanamaker and
Mackenzie Romig, the Eagles walked away with the doubles point. The home team proceeded to cruise to victories all down the singles lineup, with the closest set scores being 6-4 in favor of Juniata, down in the first set of three singles between Yoder and Sydney Madlock, then the opening frame of five singles between Maguire and Medows.Â
The River Hawks have Scranton this Saturday at home at 1 p.m., along with a non-conference date with King's (Pa.) on Sunday. A makeup date with Drew is also in the works, having suspended their match from Saturday, April 12 due to weather.Â
