SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna men's track and field senior thrower
Cole Goodwin received his second Landmark Conference Field Athlete of the Week honor this winter after throwing for a new PR Saturday at the River Hawk Invite. In his sixth and final attempt in the shot put, Goodwin scorched the throwing circle, reaching a career-best 15.42m, which as of Tuesday stands as the second-longest throw in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Additionally, Goodwin competed in the weight throw, throwing for 14.60m, good enough for sixth in the field that included throwers from NCAA Division II Bloomsburg and Lock Haven.
Goodwin and the River Hawks embark on trips to Western New York the next two weekends, beginning Saturday at Houghton University's Highlander Invitational. Next weekend Susquehanna heads up to Ithaca College for its Bomber Invite and Multi from Saturday, Jan. 31 to Sunday, Feb. 1.
