Rebecca Heuler Newest Face to Track & Field Coaching Staff

SELINSGROVE, PA - Susquehanna University Director of Track & Field Ethan Senecal has announced the addition of Rebecca Heuler to the River Hawks' coaching staff this winter. Heuler comes to Susquehanna following a standout student-athlete career competing in track & field between SUNY Delhi and SUNY Brockport, winning the 2024 NCAA Division III national championship in the javelin during her time at Brockport. She will coach the throwers.

Heuler, originally from Piermont, N.Y., began her student-athlete career at SUNY Delhi, competing in both track & field and volleyball from 2021 to 2022. Her time with the Broncos volleyball team included serving as the team's libero and defensive specialist, earning the North Atlantic Conference's (NAC) Defensive Player of the Year in both 2021 and 2022. On the track team she handled the throws between the shot put, discus, and javelin. Despite picking up the javelin for the first time in college, Heuler won the 2022 NAC javelin title on her way to becoming SUNY Delhi's first-ever NCAA Division III women's track and field national qualifier. She transferred to SUNY Brockport in in the winter of 2023, where she reached the national championship the next three years in the javelin. Her third trip to the national runway in 2024 was where she hit paydirt, winning the national title with a throw of 47.35 meters. Her final trip in 2025 featured an NCAA All-American finish in sixth place with a measurement of 40.78m. Approaching graduation Heuler was accorded the Empire 8's Women's Track & Field Field Athlete of the Year, Women's Outdoor Track & Field Torchbearer, and Senior Scholar-Athlete, while receiving SUNY Brockport's Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year.

Her academic prowess was even more spectacular, being named the USTFCCCA's 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Outdoor Track & Field National Scholar Field Athlete of the Year, then the following year the Empire 8's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She earned her Associate's degree from SUNY Delhi in Physical Education in 2022 before finishing her Bachelor's in the same field from SUNY Brockport in 2025 with a 4.0 GPA. A four-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American, Heuler was named to the SUNY Brockport President's List and SUNYAC Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, while also winning the SUNYAC Elite 20 Award for Academic Excellence in 2024. Most recently, Heuler was named SUNY Brockport's SHAPE America Major of the Year and the KSSPE Departmental Scholar for Physical Education Teacher Education. She was also nominated for the Jay B. Nash Major of the Year Award at the New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
