BALTIMORE, MD - Susquehanna men's and women's swimming and diving rounded out the second day of Landmark Championships with
Valerie Stoltz earning the highest placement for SU, taking third place in the women's one meter diving competition for the team's first medal position of the weekend. The River Hawks look ahead to day three of four with the men's side holding fourth place (120.5) and the women's side holding third place (154 points).
How it Happened:
- Susquehanna started out the afternoon session in the 500 freestyle race, with Keegan Pence taking a 15th place finish with a time of 5:02.08.
- The women's side took to the pools next, showcasing the 500 freestyle race. Matilda Klinetob finished in 13th place with a time of 5:27.10, with Kate Wolford taking 15th place with a time of 5:31.02.
- Dan Venuti improved his time in the 200 yard IM, showing a prelim time of of 1:59.43, finishing the final race with a time of 1:57.54. Venuti claimed ninth place in the event.
- Erika Guche led all women's River Hawks swimmer in the 200 yard IM, claiming a sixth place finish for the team. Guche posted a speedy time of 2:18.11.
- The 50 yard freestyle saw Kaden TenEyck show his prowess in freestyle races, taking seventh place with a time of 21.51. Doug Bell finished the event in 13th place with a time of 21.82.
- The women's 50 yard freestyle saw Tessa Cronin finish in sixth place with a time of 25.06.
- Valerie Stolz showcased an immediate impact in the one meter diving competition, finishing the event with the bronze medal in hand. Stolz posted a score of 297.90, over 30 points more than Erin Burch from the University of Scranton who finished in fourth place.
- The men's 400 yard medley relay was slated next for the River Hawks, where Kaden TenEyck, Akira Black, Dan Venuti, and Doug Bell finished in fourth place with a time of 3:33.46.
- The final event of the second day was the women's 400 yard medley relay where the River Hawks finished in fifth place. Cameron Alvino, Jillie Donner, Erika Guche, and Tessa Cronin finished the race with a time of 4:10.91.
