Men Lace Up at York in Midweek Twilight Meet

YORK, PA - Much of Susquehanna's men's track and field roster made the midweek trip Wednesday to York College of Pa. for its Twilight Meet. They used the occasion to polish their marks and set season bests entering April.

HOW IT WENT DOWN

The formidable hurdling tandem of Carter Smink and Calder El Bachir Diakite again dazzled in the 110 hurdles. They went 1-2 again as Diakite finished first at 14.39 and Smink second at 14.77. Diakite also ran the 200 meters, running a season best of 22.53.
Reigning Landmark Track Athlete of the Week Dominic Santos ran an 11.02 time in the 100-meter dash to lead the team and place fourth overall.
Aidan Diglio ran the 400 meters, going a season-best 50.68 for 12th overall.
Mason Winslow led the team in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing fifth at 56.03. Smink took sixth at 56.06, while Nikolai Lulewich was seventh at 56.36.
Seasoned thrower Cole Goodwin threw in three events Wednesday. He threw 43.03m in the discus, 39.55m in the hammer, and a season-best 14.75m in the shot put.
Fellow thrower Carter Reed set a new PR in the hammer throw at 43.28m, good for ninth place.
The team of Owen Nugent, Santos, Winslow, and Diakite ran the 4x100, coming in second with a time of 41.68.
Nugent also took on the 200 meters, running 22.83, while Diglio ran a 23.06.
First-year Hayden Durst set a new personal best in the pole vault, reaching 4.25m for third in the event. He opened at 3.95m, nailing his first two heights in the first try, then conquering 4.25m on his third attempt.
Derick Blair ran the third-fastest time in the 5,000 meters, securing a time of 15:15.06. Hunter Valentino ran a personal-best 16:05.49.

UP NEXT FOR THE RIVER HAWKS

Susquehanna makes the trip to Ursinus this weekend for the Ursinus Springfest. A handful of throwing events kicks off the festivities Friday, while the rest of the meet commences Saturday.
