YORK, PA - Much of the Susquehanna women's track and field team made the midweek trip to York College of Pa. on Wednesday for its Twilight Meet. In an action-packed evening, the River Hawks began the month of April on a positive note. 

HOW IT WENT DOWN

• Kendall Simms ran the 100 meters to start her day, finishing with a time of 13.24. She concluded the evening in the pole vault, winning after clearing her opening height of 3.45m on her first try. 
• Gabby Howe led the team in the 800 meters with a season-best 2:29.55. Katie Wojton ran 2:30.63, another season best. 
• Rebecca Cree threw 33.24m in the discus, good for eighth place and a season best.
• First-year Ava Ross threw 27.32m in the discus, then took on the shot put where she threw 10.11m. 
• Emma Szabo threw 39.07m in the hammer throw, then threw 9.59m in the shot put. 
• Paulina Biagioni had her chance in the javelin, where she placed sixth overall at 30.89m. 
• Annie Gehman cleared 1.40m in the high jump, then moved on to the triple jump, reaching a new PR of 9.70m on her second attempt. 
• Sophia Bostwick took third in the 5,000 meters, going 18:12.15. Alison Sponseller ran a new personal best 19:00.58 for eighth place, as did Julianna Sobocinski with a time of 19:39.20 for 14th place. Ayla Kerwan was also in the PR realm with her 19:59.15 time, while Jess Askins had a new high of 20:13.67. Griane Reed ran 21:28.21.

• Susquehanna is set to take on the Ursinus Springfest this weekend. The throwing events kick off the meet Friday, while the rest of the meet takes place Saturday.
